Canadian businesses push for more help as Ottawa extends deadline for CEBA repayment

  • Publicado el 11 ene 2022
  • With Canadian businesses still struggling during the pandemic amid Omicron's rise, the federal government is now giving them more time to repay interest-free loans from the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) program.
The CEBA provided up to $60,000 to nearly 900,000 businesses across Canada. If repaid by the new deadline at the end of 2023, up to $20,000 could be forgiven.
But as Abigail Bimman reports, some business owners say they need more help, with so many desperately trying to keep the lights on.

Here's a crazy idea. Let them open up, and remove all restrictions that destroyed their business in the first place.

But why do we have to repay yhe loan. It was the government who closed the economy through mandates. Because of the government actions millions of people list their jobs ,lost their savings and lost their rights to earn an income to survive which is stared in the charter if rights. Because of the governments actions during this pandemic they not only destroyed small business that could not survive but burdened the same businesses with a loan they did not need if they just left the economy alone
